Bummer

This is Mark, and that's Mark's bike in the picture. In the foreground in Marks thumb shifter lever, which apparently broke clean off during a down shift. Mark recently, "upgraded" his Record 10 speed bike, to the new Centaur ergo style levers. I don't think he's been ridding them for more than a month or two. The part that broke was the metal connector piece that attaches the thumb shifter button to the rest of the brake lever. Mark sent a very unhappy letter to Campy, and is still awaiting a response. Anyone ells ever seen this happen?

...as you know, i've been riding the cheaper version "veloce's" (aluminum brake lever) in the new ergo shape on my cross bike, which takes a fair amount of abuse, ie: not particularly gentle shifts while banging around in the dirt & so far, no problemo...

...i gotta figure that's an anomalous breakage & that they'd WANT to warranty that immediately...hell, that's a thumb shifter which doesn't take a lot of pressure & it would behoove them to both look at it & replace it...drive (or ride) down to campagnolo usa headquarters in carlsbad & 'camp' on the doorstep...

...post script: keep us informed as to how it all comes down...the damn things are so comfortable & thus more practical in an ergonomic sense that i was definitely intending at some point to upgrade to the new carbon ergo levers for my record 10 setup...

...be interesting to see if they take care of business or drag their feet, which would be total bullshit...
