The single speed

IMG_7201.jpg
Ever since I moved out of the city and into the country side I've been ridding my single speed more than ever.  The mostly flat coastal roads, with occasional small rolling hills are where this bike feels most at home.  It never really felt right ridding it through traffic and stop lights and it's geared a little high for that type of ridding anyways.  Recently I had to get some brake work done and it seemed like a good opportunity to upgrade my brake levers.  I was never very happy with my old no name Campy-style knock offs.  The ergonomics were just terrible and the rubber hoods weren't soft enough.  Since the hoods are my main ridding position on this bike, it just made it less fun to ride.  I had been holding out for SRAM to release these since I built the bike.  I had always dreamed of building it up with Campy Record single speed levers, but at upwards of $200 they are just too expensive.  These SRAM alloys are much more reasonably priced and are a huge upgrade from the cheep knock offs - for a pretty small increase in price.
