As a blogger you sometimes feel compelled to do certain things. This list may include; talking about things you like, taking pictures of things and posting them, doing product reviews, talking about new music, and attending events and doing some quasi journalistic type write ups. It is the aforementioned thing that I am least comfortable with, mostly because it involves writing. At least I’ve got the photo part covered. However doing a write up about a BSNYC event makes me feel even more uncomfortable because it helps to highlight my writing inadequacies.
But alas I attended the event and I feel obligated to share it with all you out there that couldn’t make it. So first off I added some captions to the photo I posted yesterday. I did this mostly to underscore the fact that buying his books / tea-shirts / extra copies of bycling magazine (on top of the two subscriptions that are already being inexplicably sent to my house simultaneously) and the occasionally issue of Outside magazine. You are not only supporting Bikesnob, but also his wife, his baby on the way and his unpaid ironic intern.
And then without warning the projector sprung into action and projected in plain view Bikesnob's neat, tidy, organized, and well kept computer desktop. To which Bikesnob responded, "Yah, your not supposed to see that". The photo bellow reveals where the "magic happens"
He then began the slide show and took out his 3-foot tall BMX trophy he won sometime during the 1980s, and which he brought with him strictly as a confidence-boosting totem. This slide show is pretty self explanatory and was comprised mostly of images of himself from "way back in the day" If your interested in seeing more you can go here. After the slide show was finished he answered some of our questions but I can't recall any of them so they must not have been very good. We were then directed to the register where they gave us books and T-shirts and took our money. Good times

for third? how about a: smug sense of satisfaction
OK good enough. was checking out some of your past blog posts. Nice camera work. keep it up.
-Cheers.
...good deal, mr k...i look forward to bsnyc/rtms's triumphant & now outed return to sf in june to autograph my copy of the good book...
...& i hope the fact that he's appearing @ the "sports basement" in sf isn't reflective of the books popularity...
...you know, just sayin'...
It's a T-shirt not a Tea shirt, unless you had it dyed with tea and that's how you marketed said T-shirt.
Man, I so wanted to make an NY apperance for a (formerly anonymous) blogger whom I've never met. But then I had to move. Anyway, thanks for the documentationway Mr. K.
Anon, noted and fixed. I should reinstate thought, I am not good enough at writing to do my own proof reading.
Pish-posh, K.
You're too humble.
NICE STRY
Jeez, the epic hair is too much like
"Welcome Back Kotter".
Good job of epically recording the bsnyc's 1st BRA-way.
awesome; i couldn't make it but now i feel better
Erik, you need to get your own intern or helper monkey to do your proof reading.
'Tee,' 'T' or 'Tea'(especially on a wednesdayway) are all acceptable in this dynamic world. However, K & Anon, I prefer Snob's own 'Lounging Smock' nomenclature.
anon 12:12 AM, that sounds great, anyone interested? Also I'de like funding, a travel budget, and writers while were at it, any takers?
...erik k...you'll know what i'm referring to when i say i hit the whole foods on broadway w/ a ladyfriend recently & then we wandered down to main beach park before heading up the canyon road on the way north to play @ mickeyland...
...lotta changes over a lotta years but good to see anyway...pch used to be only two lanes back then...whoa !!!...hard to imagine now...
bgw... I would ride that same rout every day, I worked up in the canyon.
Thanks for the photo journalism, it hits the spot for those of us not able to make the event.
...erik k...i only wish you coulda seen it back in those days...it was a sleepy little surfer/artist/stoner town back then...
...very little glitz, unlike now...
