So I attended a triathlon

But I did not participate. My wife happens to be the head guard at the local beach, and well they really, really, need guards for the open ocean swim portion of the race. She also told me that she wanted to commute by bike to work that day. This is of course something which I whole heatedly encouraged. So due to the fact that I currently have neither a full time job, or anything ells to do, I took it upon myself to help escort her to her day at the office... err beach. And of course being a bike blogger I had to take pictures. It's not like it's the bike's fault they'er being used in a triathlon, I'm sure if they had their way (the bikes) they wouldn't be ridden by guys in wet speedo's and areo helmets. They would no doubt opt for riders who take the time to put on socks, and areo booties for that matter! Riders who know the vaule in a good pair of bib shorts amd wear jerseys that cover their whole backs. Riders who most importantly, know how to ride time trial bikes. Here's the first instalment from the day, more photos to follow.

What's the deal with having a SRAM Red rear derailer when the rest is Dura Ace?

I mean it's 20g lighter, but what?

— Well, at least you didn't shoot a bunch of folks in speedos... for that, I thank you.

SRAM friction shifters as well on the areo bars

Some people like the feel of SRAM shifting. Especially since those seem to be the new "return to center" shifters which are supposedly more aerodynamic. Save for shift components the drivetrain parts are interchangeable, and it's no secret that shimano chains and cassettes still shifter better...

That bike needs to have its chain and cog cleaned. Everything else is nice and shinny why not the drive train?
